while in the county on the weekend we made it to the beach for the first time this season (brrrrr....)

theatre direct and playground studios collaborated on an amazing project: The ToyBox.

"...a place where people of all ages can interact with an empathetic environment. We invite audiences into a tactile and immersive interaction where they are directly engaged with technology and toys to explore their own creativity. The ToyBox is designed to defy the conventions of audiences as observers and instead invites them to participate in a true “chose-your-own” adventure.

The ToyBox promotes non-linear, non-narrative play where one can be observer, participant, and controller. Act, dance, sit, stand, sing, and play with props, while pressing buttons, firing cues, changing lighting, sound, and visuals in a communal encounter. Through this immersion the audience will witness the effect that their actions have on one another. They will experience first-hand the joy and inspiration one can derive from creation and connection."

clover was by far the tiniest participant but we had such fun...

when Clover was born a colleague gave Clover a Kaloo, I wasn't thrilled with the pink-girliness of it...

and went and bought her an organic felted lovey (which she completely ignores)

she can't sleep without Kaloo and we needed to get a second one to help for naps at daycare.
